Cannabis Flower Forms 101
"Flower" isn't one thing on the menu — it's a whole family. Whole bud, ground flower, pre-rolls, and infused pre-rolls all start from the same plant and end up feeling pretty different in your hand, in your grinder, or already rolled and ready to go.

Before the forms make sense
Four terms worth knowing
These show up across almost every flower-family listing on the menu.
- Whole flower
- The dried, cured bud itself, sold intact rather than broken down — the most traditional form on the shelf.
- Ground flower
- Flower that's already been milled down, saving you the grinder step before rolling or packing.
- Pre-roll
- Flower already rolled into a cone or joint, ready to go without any prep at all.
- Infused pre-roll
- A pre-roll with concentrate, kief, or oil added to the flower or the paper, generally built to run stronger and burn slower than a standard one.

Where every other form starts
Whole flower, the foundation
Every other form on this list is made from whole flower — ground down, rolled up, or infused further. Buying it whole means you're the one deciding how fine to grind it and how tightly to pack it, which is exactly why plenty of regular customers never switch off it.
The label still applies here the same way it does everywhere else — check Track 01 for what the potency numbers actually mean.
One plant. Four different ways to meet it.
Why the form matters as much as the strain
Two packages can list the same strain name and still feel different in your hand — because how it's prepped changes how it burns, how fast it goes, and how much prep work is on you before you can use it.
None of this is a ranking. It's four honest options, and the right one depends on what your evening actually looks like.
Side by side
Four forms, one plant, very different evenings
A quick side-by-side of what each form actually offers — onset is general and instant for all of these, since they're all smoked or vaped rather than eaten (see Track 02 for how edibles differ).
| Form | What it is | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Whole flower | Dried, cured bud, unbroken | Grinding and packing it your own way |
| Ground flower | Pre-milled flower, ready to pack or roll | Skipping the grinder step |
| Pre-rolls | Flower already rolled into a cone or joint | Zero prep, straight from the package |
| Infused pre-rolls | A pre-roll with added concentrate or kief | A stronger, slower-burning option than a standard pre-roll |

If you want to compare them yourself
Try the family, three steps
No wrong order — this is just one easy way to work through it.
Start with a pre-roll
Zero prep, straight from the package — the simplest way to meet the plant.
Try whole or ground flower
Pack it your own way and notice how the same strain can read a little differently.
Level up to infused
When you're ready for more, an infused pre-roll adds concentrate on top of the base flower.
Ground, rolled, or whole — it's still the same plant. Pick the version that fits your night, not the fanciest one.Skunkies · Kalamazoo, MI
The upgrade
Why infused pre-rolls hit differently
Burns slower
Added concentrate or kief generally changes the burn rate compared to a standard pre-roll.
Runs stronger
The extra layer of concentrate adds potency on top of the base flower's own numbers.
Still labeled
The Total THC number on an infused pre-roll's package reflects the whole thing, flower and infusion combined.

Quick answers
Flower questions
Is ground flower weaker than whole flower?
Not inherently — it's the same flower, just already milled. Potency comes from the label, not from whether it's whole or ground.
Are pre-rolls made from lower-quality flower?
Not necessarily. Pre-rolls exist for convenience, not because of the flower's grade — check the specific product's own label.
Do infused pre-rolls cost more?
We don't list prices here — check the live Weedmaps menu for what's currently available and any pricing.
Which form should a first-timer try?
A standard pre-roll is a common, low-prep starting point. Ask staff for a recommendation based on how you like to consume.
